Two Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Network clients win regional clean tech contest
Two out of three winners at a regional clean technology competition are UW-Extension small business clients, who have received business counseling or other services through the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Network or the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center Network. The winners include a Minnesota company and the UW-Extension clients:
- Whole Trees Architecture and Structures, a Stoddard company that uses whole unmilled trees to support buildings
- Lightweight Structures, a Hartland company that makes sustainable lightweight composite framing materials for commercial buildings
As winners of the Clean Tech Open North Central competition, each received cash and services valued up to $20,000. They also are in the running for the $250,000 grand prize in the national clean technology contest in November.
One of the semifinalists was AquaMost, a Madison company the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Network selected for the 2011 Wisconsin Companies to Watch program.
Details are available in the Journal Sentinel news story.
